Jimmy, I just finished THINGS IN DITCHES. It was great book with wonderful characters. As a Minnesota native, I enjoyed the passages that brought the Northwoods to life. Can't wait for your next book!

Mr. Olsen, I find your work refreshingly familiar and unique. I'd like to hear more about your children, do you have a son?

Murder Without Moonlight

A black night sky cracked with lightening, flashing across the water, rescuing him once again, marking him on the lake. The small fishing boat lifted its tin bow to the swells, white caps rolled along its sides up to its gunwales, often spilling inside. Klausen was soaked, through his shoes to his socks. He was cold and worried. The light disappeared and utter darkness fell on him again. The outboard coughed and vibrated against the metal hull, numbing the arm and hand that held the handle. Lightening flashed again, a series of jagged bolts and blinding white glare that glowed in the face of the corpse in the bow. Klausen wished once again that he'd closed her eyes. He'd do it now if he dared to leave the motor for even a second. Dead eyes they were, but he felt them even in the darkness. Eyes that talk, speaking of love and hate, and of treachery. Three more miles. No more than that. No more. Then he'd be safely ashore. Well, ashore.

Attention writers: I am setting up a progressive story in which you, dear writer, may add a section. Here are the rules: Limit 1 entry per writer, consisting of no more than 250 words. Sex and overt violence will be deleted. The addition must be original and include the writer's full name and email address. Keep checking back to see where the story goes. I reserve the right to delete objectionable passages.
